James McCauley
Chief Excutive Officer
James McCauley has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Red Talon Group Corporation (RTG) since 2021, leading an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that provides expeditionary range packages, range-enabling support, and live-fire training solutions to U.S. and coalition forces worldwide.
James is a retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class with over 26 years of military service, serving as an Airborne Infantryman, Calvary Aero-Scout, and communications specialist. He led teams in high-tempo operational and training environments focused on mission readiness and combat effectiveness.
Following his military career, he supported U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps operations in live-fire range management and operations across the Indo-Pacific, enabling large-scale exercises and working directly with U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) and partner forces.
James transformed how live-fire ranges are conducted across Pacific operations (formerly Pacific Pathways) by designing and fielding the SMART® Expeditionary Range Package (ERP™), enabling rapidly deployable, combat-relevant training in austere environments.
At RTG, James leads strategy, growth, and capability development, positioning the company to deliver combat-relevant training systems that serve as a force multiplier for U.S. and allied forces.
Thomas Cox
President & Chief Operating Officer
Thomas “Tom” Cox serves as the President & Chief Operating Officer of Red Talon Group Corporation (RTG), a veteran-founded defense small business providing expeditionary range packages, range enabler support, marksmanship training, and advanced geospatial/GIS solutions to U.S. and coalition forces.
Tom is a retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major with more than 20 years of leadership experience across Active and Reserve components. While serving in the Army Reserve, he concurrently worked in support of U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) as a defense contractor, and later as a DoD Civilian assigned to the USARPAC G-6. In these roles, he provided enterprise communications and operational support across the Indo-Pacific.
His background includes senior operations and command-level positions supporting units across the United States, Europe, and the Indo-Pacific, as well as deployments in support of Kosovo and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
At RTG, Tom oversees corporate operations, field execution, logistics planning, and partner coordination, ensuring safe, compliant, and mission-ready delivery in complex training environments.

Keith Sanderson is the Director of Marksmanship of Red Talon Group (RTG), a veteran-led organization providing expeditionary range operations and advanced marksmanship training for U.S. and Coalition forces worldwide. RTG supports live-fire training and qualification in austere, high-tempo environments, informing equipment design through direct operational feedback.
A 24-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, Sanderson is a triple-distinguished shooter and four-time Olympian, holding current National and Pan-American records and the former Olympic Qualification record. His background includes elite competition, military training, and multiple deployments to Ukraine, where he has trained sniper teams under active combat conditions. These experiences shaped a design philosophy centered on clarity, speed, and decision-making under stress.
